The studio is research-based, and understanding the existing conditions and context of each site is fundamental to my approach. Drawing from a wide range of influences, years of hands-on experience in gardens and working with leading architects, I’ve refined a methodology to create gardens and landscapes that respond authentically to their environment.
Prioritising a diversity of plant species and subtle detailing, the studio focuses on selecting plants and materials that feel right for each project; from the inspiration of natural plant communities and understanding how species interact within their ecosystems, to working with specialist craftspeople.
After initially training in fine arts, then undertaking a diploma in landscape design, I established my studio in 2020. An interest in horticulture and ecology has taken me to a variety of places; from working with DOC on Hauturu (Little Barrier) to training under Fergus Garrett at Great Dixter in the UK.
Working with a range of skilled practitioners, my offering is tailored to each project’s needs.
